Having served with my 5-6 graders from Sunday school at the Open Door Mission, I can testify that this type of story is very real. Jesus spoke very clearly as to what we should do in these circumstances in Matthew 25:31–46. He was speaking about obedient followers being separated from pretenders and unbelievers. It is never easy to treat everyone we encounter as if they are Jesus. But Jesus said, “Whatever we do for one of the least of these brothers of His, we do it for Him.” We are to feed the hungry, give the homeless a place to stay, and look after the sick. These are acts of mercy that we can all do no matter what are status in life is. Romans 12:20-21 Paul said, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
