I love geography! We learned quite a bit of it a couple years ago in My Father’s World, Exploring Countries and Cultures. We also have various map puzzles, and I think those help a lot. My 14 year old was recently handed a blank map of Africa in school and filled in all but half a dozen countries without her book, while her classmates crowded around the wall map.

That is awesome that your child could label Africa! I have to admit my brain capacity for memorizing all that has diminished. My children are always sponging stuff in though!

That’s awesome Stef! I really like how much it offers! Although I have to admit it is still hard for me to not feel like I have to do EVERYTHING! (Even though the book specifically tells you to pick and choose) :-O

I agree, mine is only 5 so we are just doing basics. She can find North America and Africa on her own and show you about where our state is and Egypt. She really likes Egypt. We keep it light and fun but I figure the more she absorbs now the easier the recall will be later.
