I filed last year and it was great! I’m not quite as organized this year–I’m still scrambling. Looks like you will have a great start this year.

The good news with Homeschool Tracker is that if you are re-using your curriculum with other kids down the road, the Lesson Plans will be done already. Also, you can import Lesson Plans that other people have done. If you haven’t joined the HS Tracker Yahoo Groups that are set up for sharing Lesson Plans then check that out. Several times I have just imported something, tweaked it and then it is done! Once you are really proficient in HS Tracker, the time spent won’t be so painstaking. Have fun!!!

Thank you for the advice Mary. I will check out the Yahoo Group. I have yet to learn how to input anything, and when I move one plan into our schedule is seems to disappear from the lesson plan section so I must be doing something wrong. Each step brings me a new revelation with HST and I have yet to be disappointed!

I use a filing crate system, too. It feels good to look at each month and see the appropriate packets, lesson plans, and other materials ready to go! It also gives me a place to put anything else that I come across, like a good winter poem or a spring activity. I used to set those aside and then forget about them!

It takes a lot of time to plan, doesn’t it! But I have to, because I’m not good at “winging it.” Our days go so much better when I’ve planned ahead. Plus, my kids like knowing what to expect.
