I give this post 9 out of 10 possible points. 🙂 Just kidding. Your post is spot on as usual. Keep up the good work!

Definitely agree about the measuring of ourselves against others. Heidi, your post is well done. Trying to keep up, measure up to the “Jones’ Mentality” is a rat race. This race leads to thoughts of never measuring up or being fulfilled. Sadly, in striving to compete, you never get to be the person you were meant to be.

Jesus Christ is my number/measurement/model. For me, I try to examine myself as to whether or not I am walking the path. Am I being and doing what God has purposed for me, not what the “You Shoulders” think. As a believer, it is a life long process. There are times I measure up to the high calling in Christ and other times when I fall/fail. But praise God I have the Holy Spirit and God’s Word that convicts, instructs, and encourages me to get back/stay on the right path. Like Paul in the Bible, I need to persevere, press on being fully convinced that in Christ I have been given complete freedom. Not freedom to be what I want to be, BUT freedom to be all that He desires/purposes/plans for me. Everyday is a new day of challenges. When God calls me home I pray that I will hear, “Well done good and faithful servant.”
